Chain Re-Action is an ideal team activity since we can combine action with synergy. The activity challenges the cross functional processes, as well as the planning and implementation of the teams.
The message that will go across is that we are all parts of a greater Team!
We split in teams and take our place in the designated area of our team that is indicated either by a mark on the floor or by table. Our goal is to complete a very simple task, such as turning on a lamp, lifting a company’s flag etc., with a very complicated process!
To achieve this, we have access to many different materials in order to construct a fully functional Goldberg machine, that will function with a chain reaction from start to finish. Marbles, wooden sticks, dominoes, bottles, electrical devices, fluids, pots etc. Are transformed into the gears that move our machine and help it complete the task given.
When the planning is done, we start the construction process with the materials we have chosen. At this point negotiation skills are needed, since almost all the teams will miscalculate in their first effort to build the machine and will need materials that other teams don’t use
With the construction time over, the machine will start its operation! Dominoes fall, fluids run into bottles, fans push balloons and through a complicated and impressive chain reaction, a switch will be pressed and the conference motto will be lit in a customize sign or colorful balloons will start flying in the room!
The potential for a great achievement is in your hands!
