About the event

Hydra, one of the most cosmopolitan Greek islands, is located in the heart of the Argosaronic Gulf. It’s the perfect option for a quick getaway!

Having been a filming location of “A girl in black” and “Boy on a dolphin” movies, as well as a holiday destination for Leonard Cohen, Hydra stands out for its classy beauty!

Despite having no financial support from his homeland, he completed successfully two major missions in Asia and Africa, competing worthily some of the most renowned foreign explorers. His legacy to all of you fellow explorers is two manuscripts. The second one, containing Kolokotronis' memories about the Greek War of Independence, was found just recently while restoring the local library. Mycenae | Inside the Cyclopean Walls
10-120
Mycenae comes to us out of the mists of time. It's featured in the poems of Homer, yet you can still walk its ancient paths, stand by the graves of kings from over 3400 years ago and gaze over the rolling hills of Argos from the megaron, where ancient warriors once gathered. The powerful city of Mycenae was the heart of the Mycenaean civilisation that dominated Ancient Greece between 1600BC and 1100BC. Said to have been founded by Perseus himself, Mycenae was the center of many Greek myths and legends. One of them is the mythical beings Cyclopes - the one-eyed giants - brought by Perseus from Asia to construct the large fortified walls. Once you pass the famous Lion Gate, the ancient citadel surrounded by the Cyclopean Walls starts unfolding. Then, it is up to you how deep in the history you will let yourself be immersed!
