Kalavryta | The first spark
6-100 participants
outdoor
1 - 2 hours
About the event

Kalavryta is one of the most famous Peloponnese large villages and is the ideal destination for wannabe explorers! Why, I hear you say?

Because of its history: the toll of blood during the WWII, the declaration of independence against the Ottomans, the Megalo Spilaio Monastery, the oldest in Greece or the first cog train rail in Greece, called Odontotos.

And because of its beauty, edged among mountains & rivers, strewn with leaves during autumn, snow in the winter and bright, lush vegetation during spring & summer!

Event details
  • The clues on paper or digital map will be your tools for discovery. Along this fun tour, in teams of 6-8 people, you will visit the wide area of Kalavryta, ask the locals to discover details, think & work with your team, and above all, have fun while learning.
  • The clues or pins on the map hide puzzles and surprises. Each clue or pin corresponds to an on-the-spot challenge, either that be a puzzle, a question or a team activity coordinated by Summit facilitators. By completing on-the-spot-challenges, teams win bonus point.
  • All of the challenges are interactive, either with the surrounding environment or with your teammates. The challenges are designed to tease your team's collective brain and inquisitive spirit in a playful way.

Are you up to the challenge?

Despite having no financial support from his homeland, he completed successfully two major missions in Asia and Africa, competing worthily some of the most renowned foreign explorers. His legacy to all of you fellow explorers is two manuscripts. The second one, containing Kolokotronis' memories about the Greek War of Independence, was found just recently while restoring the local library.
